What is staging?

Staging incorporates several techniques to make your house look better than the competition, selling it faster and for a larger profit. It isn’t about decorating, it’s about curb appeal ... about getting the house sold.

In our current real estate market, a house spends an average of 170 days? on the market. Studies show (?) that staged homes spend less time on the market and sell for higher average prices. A typical staging job might cost $3000, but result in the house selling for $20,000 more. A smart investment to maximize the largest asset most individuals own.

Hint: When you are looking at your house, go up to the front door as a prospective buyer would. Is the door and its surrounding area clean and is the paint in good shape? How about the screen or storm door? Is the front stoop clean and free of debris? Is the landing safe and in good shape? These are in important aspects of how your house looks to a prospective buyer ... and you know what they say about first impressions! Will your approach to your home pass the test?
